Albert Freeman

Albert joined the 14/20 Kings Hussars in 1930 and was made a Farrier in 1934. At the outbreak of war in 1939, he was transferred to the Cavalry of the Line and the 4th (Horsed) Cavalry and posted to Palestine. Shortly before being posted to Greece in 1941, he was transferred to the Royal Army Veterinary Corps.

Captured at Kalamata, he spent the war in two work camps; Sollfield from 1941 to 42, and Klagenfurt from 1942 to 45.
