Lunch at the Gasthaus zum Wirt in Pollheim
We were next taken over to the far side of the valley and up into the hills to the Gasthaus zum Wirt. I don't think that any of us really knew what to expect but tables both inside and outside of the restaurant were laid out waiting for us and the staff made a stirling effort to take all our orders and drinks. It must have been very difficult for them to have 120 people all turn up at once, demanding to be fed!
It was over lunch that we began to talk about ways in which we could repay the people of Wolfsberg for their hospitality. Typically I began to think of all sorts of high-minded ideas. Carole, on the other hand, organised a whip-round! Our party were very generous and we quickly collected over 1600 Euros in a plastic bag. I had the unenviable job of guarding this for the rest of the day until I could get back to the hotel and put it in the safe.
